Ice Climbing

The Cody area offers ice climbing from as early as October through April. The South Fork valley boasts the largest concentration of naturally forming waterfall ice in the lower 48 states. Ice climbing here ranges from WI 2 to WI 7 and begins as the pavements ends along Highway 291 (South Fork Highway). This area offers a variety of single- and multi-pitch climbs with substantial approaches. A selection of guidebooks exists for more specifics.
